Updating your wardrobe should not break the bank. Nor should it force you to buy cheap clothing. You can still update your wardrobe without spending a fortune.
First, make an honest assessment of your current wardrobe. You would want to make sure that you have the wardrobe essentials. These can include an LBD, a neutral cardigan, a white blouse, and t-shirt, among others. The reason why they call these wardrobe essentials is that you can mix and match them to create different outfits for different occasions. You don’t need to purchase new clothes as long as you have these essentials.
Next, be vigilant as to when your favorite store will be throwing its end-of-season sale. Retailers often have clearance sales to make room for their items for the following season. These clearance sales will give you access to some clothing items you can include in your wardrobe without spending a fortune. Keep in mind, however, to buy only those that you will wear.
You can also try your luck at consignment stores. Many of these establishments have frequent shopper and loyalty cards that can help ease the burden of paying for your items. Some may also pay you for your old clothes.
