Salt can be great for more than just cooking.
1. Create Texture
Beachy waves are still trendy, and to achieve textured waves, all you need is 1 teaspoon of salt and 20 ounces of water. Combine in a spray bottle and spray onto damp hair.
2. Exfoliate The Body
For a simple scrub, use some crushed sea salt and rub over your feet, body, or face. It will remove dead skin and improve blood circulation. It also stops dandruff.
3. Treat Acne
Salt is a natural exfoliator, meaning it cleans pores and reduces oil. Just avoid the eyes and cuts.
4. Whiten Teeth
One part salt and 2 part baking soda can be used as a paste, you can scrub it with a toothbrush. Add water if needed. This paste removes plaque and whitens teeth in between treatments.
5. Freshen Breath
Fight off bad breath with a mixture of ¼ baking soda, 1/8 teaspoon salt, and 1 cup of water. It kills bacteria in the mouth that cause stinky breath.
6. Brighten Nails
Yellowish nails are common when you do not use a base coat. Mix 1 teaspoon each of lemon juice, salt, and baking soda to remove any stains. It will also soften cuticles.
This natural ingredient has special properties to clean, disinfect, whiten, or exfoliate. No need to buy expensive beauty products when you can create your own.
